No playoffs doesn't mean nothing to play for today for the Rangers. I would think most eyes will be on the pitching mound, with Scott Feldman starting the final game of the season for the Rangers (3:10 CT on FSSW). Here's a quick look at Feldman's impressive resume and what he could achieve with a win today:
-- He is tied for the major league lead with a club-record 12 wins on the road (12-3, 3.28 ERA in 96 innings) this season. He's done it in just 16 starts and is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in three outings (all quality starts) against Seattle this season.
-- Texas is 20-10 in Feldman starts this season.
-- Feldman's 17 wins are tied for fouth in the American League and tied for fifth in the majors (and he's done that despite not joining the rotation until April 25). He's the 11th different pichers in Rangers history with 17 or more wins in a season.
-- Feldman has the most wins since Kenny Rogers won 18 in 2004 and it's the most wins by a right-hander since Aaron Sele won 18 in 1999. Feldman can get his 18th win with a victory today.
-- A Rangers starter has earned at least 18 wins just nine times. Feldman hopes to become the 10th.
