Stars center Mike Modano said he and teammate Brenden Morrow are scheduled to attend Brett Hull's induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday night. Hull, along with defenseman Brian Leetch and forwards Luc Robitaille and Steve Yzerman, will join the Hall. Lou Lamoriello is also being inducted in the "builders" category.
Modano and Morrow are expected to fly up to Toronto after practice Monday to attend that evening's ceremony and return Tuesday. The Stars play Saturday in Minnesota and don't play again until Thursday in San Jose.
"I was hoping that our schedule would permit us to go up there and it worked out," Modano said. "I'm looking forward to it. It should be fun. I've never been to it before or watched the ceremony, so it will be fun to share it with him."
Modano and Hull, former teammates, are close friends who also own a restaurant together in Dallas.
Hull had 741 regular-season goals, the third-most in NHL history. He joins his father, Bobby, who was inducted in 1983. Hull had 86 goals in the 1990-91 season when he won the Hart Trophy (the NHL's MVP) and won two Stanley Cups (Dallas in 1999 and Detroit).
