FRISCO -- Stars general manager Joe Nieuwendyk said he talked to the supervisor of officials on duty at the Stars-Flames game on Wednesday and was told that the official made a mistake in calling a delay of game penalty on Nicklas Grossman in overtime.
Grossman flipped the puck into the seats and was sent to the penalty box. Calgary scored the winning goal on the power play 1:25 into overtime. But replays appeared to show he was not in the defensive zone.
"They told me the linesman felt bad about it," Nieuwendyk said. "It was just a bad call. It happens. There's nothing we can do and we move forward from it."
