James Neal's pulled groin will keep him out of the lineup Friday against Vancouver and he is doubtful on Saturday in Minnesota. Toby Petersen will take Neal's place on Friday.
The Stars get four days off next week and that should give Neal a chance to rest the groin and maybe get back in the lineup Thursday against San Jose.
Neal leads the Stars with nine goals and is second on the team with 17 points.
"Petersen has good versatility and he can play all three forward positions," Stars coach Marc Crawford said. "He's got the ability to play with skill players. He's jumped into spots and played real well in some real important roles."
