The Dallas Stars had 40 shots through two periods, yet had to fight all the way to the end. But they played well and earned a big two points. It may have been their best game at home this season. You can view a replay of Friday's in-game chat here.

Brad Richards. He's just also on the scoresheet and around the puck, isn't he? Loui Eriksson had a nice pass to setup Brad Richards with the game's first goal in the second period. Richards has a point in seven straight games. He's become a leader and a player that the opposition has to worry about every night.
Penalty kill. The Stars didn't take a penalty until the third period, and they took two almost back-to-back (The Vancouver Canucks had 18 seconds of a two-man advantage). Against a good Canucks power play, Dallas did the job. Marty Turco made two very big saves, including a glove save on a hard shot in the slot by Sami Salo. The Stars won a few faceoffs and blocked some shots. It was a good-looking PK.
Marty Turco. He allowed a goal on a bad rebound, but other than that was very solid. He was especially good in the third period, stopping 15 of 16 shots in the third period when the Canucks really pushed hard. Turco has played well recently and will probably be in nets on Saturday against the Minnesota Wild, even though it's a back-to-back situation. The Stars have four days off after that, so I think coach Marc Crawford isn't afraid to work him hard this weekend.
Power play. The Stars got a goal on the PP as Brenden Morrow was in front of the net and scored on a rebound. Morrow, as usual, worked hard in front of the net to fight for position and was rewarded.
Lines. Coach Marc Crawford altered them with James Neal out of the game because of a pulled groin. Here are the lines he went with:
Mike Modano has had a good two games since returning from cracked ribs. He made a deft pass to Jamie Benn in the second period, but Benn's scoring attempt was thwarted by Vancouver Cory Schneider. Modano is skating well and creating opportunities for his linemmates.
Schneider played very well, facing a bunch of shots and making some great saves. It seems that opposing goalies have played well against the Stars, despite Dallas' ability to shoot the puck with regularity.
Shots. This team sure does get a lot of them. Dallas had 47 shots on goal in the game and 40 through two periods. They outshot Vancouver by 14.
