Players fill in for injury-riddled Cowboys

IRVING, Texas -- Free safety Alan Ball and right tackle Doug Free will make their first career starts when the injury-riddled Dallas Cowboys play the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

Coach Wade Phillips said Wednesday that Ball would replace Ken Hamlin, who will miss two to four weeks with a high ankle sprain.
