Lewis will vie for spot in Texas rotation

The Texas Rangers have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with starting pitcher Colby Lewis pending a physical, according to a source.

The right-handed Lewis, 30, was pitching in Japan the last two seasons. He was 11-9 with a 2.96 ERA in 176 innings pitched in 2009 with Hiroshima Carp. Lewis had 186 strikeouts and just 19 walks. He had similar numbers in 2008, going 15-8 with a 2.68 ERA in 178 innings of work.
