Dirk Nowitzki to wear splint for Game 2

MIAMI -- While it shouldn't be a surprise that Dirk Nowitzki will play in Game 2 of the NBA Finals with a torn tendon in his left middle finger, the Dallas Mavericks forward plans on wearing a splint Thursday night to protect it.

Nowitzki injured the finger while trying to steal the ball from Miami forward Chris Bosh toward the end of Game 1, and tape was used to cover the finger at the end of the game.
