Stars sign six free agents

The Dallas Stars were busy on the first day of free agency.

The team announced that it had signed Michael Ryder, who won a Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins last season, to a two-year deal worth $7 million.

The Stars also signed forwards Vernon Fiddler, Jake Dowell and Radek Dvorak and defensemen Sheldon Souray and Adam Pardy Friday.

Fiddler gets a a three-year, $5.4 million contract. Pardy received a two-year, $4 million deal, and Dvorak was signed to a one-year, $1.5 ...
