Rangers designate Arthur Rhodes

DETROIT -- Texas Rangers left-handed relief pitcher Arthur Rhodes was designated for assignment Tuesday to make room for newly acquired reliever Mike Adams on the 25-man roster.

Rhodes, 41, was 3-3 with a 4.81 ERA in 32 relief appearances and was on the club's Opening Day roster. Texas has 10 days to trade, release or outright Rhodes to the minor leagues.
