Nelson Cruz, Mike Adams hurt

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Two key members of the Texas Rangers left Tuesday's exhibitions after sustaining bruises that put their status for the two-time defending American League champions' Friday Opening Day in some doubt.

Outfielder Nelson Cruz, the ALCS MVP last season, suffered a bruised left elbow when he was hit by a pitch in the third inning of the 13-4 win over the Mexico City Diablos Rojos. X-rays were negative, but there is some swelling above the elbow.
