Anthony Spencer signs tender

Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker Anthony Spencer signed his franchise tender on Monday and will be paid $8.8 million for the 2012 season, unless he reaches a long-term agreement with the team.

Spencer's agent, Jordan Woy, met with Cowboys officials late last week about a possible new deal, but nothing was finalized.

With Spencer now signed, he's expected to attend the team's voluntary offseason conditioning program, which started its second week on Monday.
