Mike Jenkins strengthening shoulder

OXNARD, Calif. -- Dallas Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins still doesn't have enough strength in his surgically repaired shoulder to begin practicing but is hopeful he'll be cleared to play in the Sept. 5 regular-season opener at the New York Giants.

"That's what we're looking at," Jenkins said after Tuesday's practice. "But I'm not quite sure. Once I go back, hopefully for my final, final clearance."
