Chris Kaman leaves practice for back

DALLAS -- Center Chris Kaman left the Dallas Mavericks' first training camp practice due to a lower back sprain.

Coach Rick Carlisle said Saturday the injury is not considered serious.

"We'll see how he's doing for tonight and tomorrow and go from there," Carlisle said.

Though he does not have a history of back problems, durability is a major concern with the 30-year-old Kaman, who signed a one-year, $8 million deal with the Mavericks this offseason. He has missed significant ...
