Injury puts Mike Adams' status in flux

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers reliever Mike Adams was diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, which is a condition where the rib bone pushes against a nerve and can cause numbness or pain in the arm or shoulder.

Adams said he hopes to pitch through the pain in the playoffs, as long as he can be effective, but he wants to see some other specialists before figuring out what the plan is for the rest of this season. He will not fly with the team to Oakland late Sunday and will meet with ...
