Jurickson Profar won't play in WBC

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Texas Rangers infield prospect Jurickson Profar has informed the club that he will not play in the World Baseball Classic.

Also, third baseman Adrian Beltre tweaked his right calf, a minor injury, and is not going to participate in at least the first round as a precaution.

General manager Jon Daniels said that if Beltre had to play in a doubleheader today, he could. But that out of "an abundance of caution" decided not to risk anything this early in spring by committing ...
