Anthony Spencer has surgery

OXNARD, Calif. -- Dallas Cowboys starting defensive end Anthony Spencer underwent successful surgery on his left knee Thursday in Dallas.

"It went well," said Jordan Woy, Spencer's Dallas-based agent.

Spencer suffered a hyperextended knee during offseason workouts and re-injured the knee during the conditioning test for training camp Sunday. He tried to play through it, but the knee continued to give him problems.
