McKINNEY, Texas -- Dallas' Jason Schultz and Fort Worth resident Trevor Fisher joined Bobby Hutcherson of San Marcos, Texas, and Wil Collins of Albuquerque, N.M., in qualifying Monday for this week's HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Hutcherson and Fisher posted the low rounds of the day with 8-under 64s at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club's Hills Course in McKinney, Texas. A sudden-death playoff between Schutlz, Collins and Bradley Ott of Frisco, Texas, determined the last two Nelson qualifiers. Schultz and Collins made par on the first playoff hole to advance.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who pre-qualified last week for Monday's competition, skipped the event because it conflicted with the start of the team's organized team activities. Monday's field included 85 players competing for the four qualifying spots.
The HP Byron Nelson Championship begins Thursday at the TPC Four Seasons Resort and Club in Irving, Texas.
