Dallas native and 2013 PGA Tour rookie of the year Jordan Spieth has committed to play in the HP Byron Nelson Championship in May.

Spieth, 20, attended Jesuit High School in Dallas and became the biggest story of the Nelson in 2010, when he got into contention on the final day at the age of 16. It was the tournament that launched Spieth toward a solid early career, which includes a top-20 world ranking and a win at the John Deere Classic last year.

The tournament also received commitments from four top-20 players in the world golf rankings: Keegan Bradley, Jason Dufner, Jason Day and Patrick Reed.

Reed, a San Antonio native, has won twice this season, including the WGC-Cadillac Championship a few weeks ago. Reed confidently said after that victory that he believed he was a top-5 player in the world.
