The Texas Rangers have added a piece to their bullpen depth, acquiring right-hander Hector Noesi from the Seattle Mariners for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

To make room on the 40-man roster for Noesi, the Rangers transferred infielder Jurickson Profar to the 60-day disabled list.

Noese, 27, has allowed three runs in one inning so far this season, including a game-winning home run to Oakland's Coco Crisp. He was designated for assignment shortly thereafter and owns a 4-16 career record with a 5.64 ERA in 66 games [21 starts].

The Rangers will have to make a separate move to get Noesi on the active roster once he reports to the big league club.

He came to Seattle as part of the trade with the Yankees prior to the 2012 season that was headlined by Jesus Montero and Michael Pineda.
