Yorvit Torrealba likely to catch Game 3

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington said catcher Yorvit Torrealba is likely to start Game 3 of the World Series at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington with Mike Napoli at first base and Michael Young at designated hitter.

Torrealba played in 113 games this season and hit .273 with seven homers and 37 RBIs. In the postseason, Torrealba is hitting .308 (4-for-13) with a double.

Washington said Torrealba's knowledge of the National League -- he's spent most of his career there -- has helped the club's pitchers.

"He's been sharing things in meetings and I think we've seen results of that in Games 1 and 2," Washington said. "I want to get him a game out there."

Washington wants to make sure Napoli's bat is in the lineup and will do that by putting him at first base, leaving Young as the DH. Washington still has another catcher -- Matt Treanor -- on his bench if needed.

Meanwhile, the St. Louis Cardinals are expected to use Lance Berkman as their DH and start Allen Craig in right field, according to ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.
