Josh Hamilton eyes Monday return
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Outfielder Josh Hamilton will forgo any baseball work on Sunday, but still plans to return to the lineup Monday when the Texas Rangers open a three-game road series against the San Diego Padres.
Hamilton was hospitalized on Friday and released on Saturday morning after receiving fluids to help treat an intestinal virus.

Original plans had Hamilton penciled in for a Sunday workout.
"I don't think I'll do any baseball stuff today," Hamilton said in the clubhouse three hours before the start of the series finale with the Houston Astros. "The last thing I want to do is wear myself out and have a setback."
An extra day and the cooler weather in San Diego, Hamilton reasoned, would make more sense.
"Josh looks a lot better today," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. "I'll check him to see how he feels Monday and if he needs more time, he'll get more time."
Hamilton said he first experienced discomfort in his stomach before the start of Thursday's 11-3 loss to Arizona.
"Fans were saying, 'Pay attention,' and 'Be ready' because in the outfield I had my hands on my knees until right before the pitch," Hamilton said.
