ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers starting pitcher Alexi Ogando, coming back from right biceps tendinitis, threw a bullpen Sunday and experienced no setbacks. He'll start Wednesday night in Boston against John Lackey.

Ogando threw 60 pitches in six innings in a rehab start Friday for Double-A Frisco. He is 4-2 with a 3.08 ERA in nine starts this season for the Rangers.

Rangers manager Ron Washington said that Ogando's injury is minor, and if he was still pitching in the bullpen, where he spent last season, it probably wouldn't be an issue.

"It's nothing," Washington said when Ogando first went on the disabled list. "This could be workload."

Ogando pitched in 58 games last season, all but one of them in relief. He's at 49 2/3 innings this season after going 66 innings in 2012. He spent five weeks on the disabled list last season with a right groin strain.

Todd Wills covers the Rangers for ESPNDallas.com.
