ST. LOUIS -- The Rangers placed outfielder Craig Gentry on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a non-displaced fracture of his left hand.
The move is retroactive to June 21. To replace Gentry, the Rangers recalled outfielder Engel Beltre from Triple-A Round Rock. He will join the Rangers in time for Sunday night's game against the Cardinals.
Gentry has been sidelined since being hit by a pitch on his hand on June 18 against Oakland. An MRI on Saturday revealed the fracture.
Gentry was hitting .216 with one homer and nine RBIs in 51 games this season.
Beltre, who has yet to play in the majors, was hitting .300 with four homers and 21 RBIs in 72 games at Round Rock.
