Kevin Durant's exhibition tour of the country will bring him to Dallas on Saturday night as a surprise late entrant in the Josh Howard Celebrity All-Star Basketball Game.

Durant adds significant star power to the charity event previously headlined by Dallas native LaMarcus Aldridge of the Portland Trail Blazers and Washington Wizards guard John Wall and Howard.

The Oklahoma City Thunder superstar has crisscrossed the United States to appear in various players' charity games, perhaps more than any other NBA player during the lockout.

According to Howard's publicist, the addition of Durant had been in the works for some time and recent conversations between Howard and Durant finally got the All-Star to commit.

The 6 p.m. CT game, benefiting the Josh Howard Foundation, will be played at the P.C. Cobb Center in Fair Park. The intimate Dallas Independent School District facility seats about 2,200.

Howard, who played six-plus seasons for the Dallas Mavericks, still lives in the area and continues to hold charity events there, even after being traded to the Wizards in February 2010.

Other players expected to participate include Mavericks forward Corey Brewer; Damion James, who attended the University of Texas; former Mavericks Marquis Daniels and DeSagana Diop; plus Nick Young and Andray Blatche.

Mavs guard Jason Terry will coach one of the teams.
