LOS ANGELES -- Chris Kaman joined the Dallas Mavericks on their season-opening two-game road trip, but the injured center won't be suiting up in either contest.

Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle confirmed after Tuesday's shootaround that Kaman, who had already been ruled out for the season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers, also would not be available for Wednesday's game against the Utah Jazz.

Kaman has been sidelined since straining his right calf Oct. 17. He began participating in non-contact drills Sunday, but he hasn't been through a full practice since the injury.

Saturday night's home opener against the Charlotte Bobcats is the earliest Kaman, who has missed 152 games over the previous five seasons due to a variety of injuries, could make his Mavs debut.
