PHOENIX -- The injury bug continues to bite the Dallas Mavericks' frontcourt.
Coach Rick Carlisle said the team doesn't believe either injury is serious and Marion and Kaman will likely be listed day-to-day for Saturday's matchup agains the Houston Rockets.
Marion strained his right groin in the third quarter and did not return. He said he tweaked it as he came down for a rebound. He played through it for about five minutes before he went into the locker room.
"I'm going to take it one game at a time. Groins are really tricky injuries," Marion said. "They can be lingering but they can also be something you can deal with with treatment."
Kaman sprained his left ankle stepping on center Marcin Gortat's foot while going for a rebound in the fourth quarter. He did not return and his ankle was wrapped after the game. Kaman said the X-rays were negative.
"It's part of basketball; sometimes you just have to do the best you can to control those kinds of things but those are the things you can't control," Kaman said.
The Mavericks have dealt with the absence of Dirk Nowitzki this season and were thin in the frontcourt during the final minutes of Thursday's game. Nowitzki has not played a game as he recovers from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
