DALLAS -- Texas A&M starting running back Christine Michael and safety Steven Campbell have been suspended for the Aggies' game against SMU Saturday for a violation of team rules, the team announced.

There is no indication of what the violation was. The announcement was made just moments before the Aggies' kickoff against the Mustangs on Saturday at Gerald R. Ford Stadium.

Both players started the Aggies' season opener on Sept. 8 against Florida. Michael had 13 carries for 33 yards and three catches for 15 yards and Campbell recorded five tackles.

Michael and Campbell are both seniors. Michael was a member of the Maxwell and Doak Walker Award preseason watch lists.

Junior running back Ben Malena started in Michael's place. Sophomore cornerback Deshazor Everett, who started for the Aggies at cornerback against Florida, moved to safety to fill the void left by Campbell. As a result, senior cornerback Dustin Harris started in Everett's place.
