Spurs removed from Ratliff's elbows

Dallas Cowboys starting nose tackle Jay Ratliff underwent minor surgery on both elbows Wednesday to remove bone spurs.

The two-time Pro Bowler, who was named to the All-Pro team in 2009, should return in time for offseason workouts in the spring. Ratliff elected to have the surgeries after the Pro Bowl because they were deemed minor.

Ratliff had another productive year in 2009, a season in which he produced 83 tackles, good for fifth on the team, and was second on the squad with seven sacks. Ratliff also was second on the club with eight tackles for loss.

Outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware is expected to have surgery to remove a bone spur from his foot.
