ARLINGTON -- Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Saturday he might have an announcement regarding who will be the next player to join the franchise's Ring of Honor in the next 10 days.

The Cowboys have not placed anyone into the Ring of Honor since 2005 when Michael Irvin, Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith were added.

Jones has held off on any announcements, not wanting to distract from the opening of Cowboys Stadium or when the $1.2 billion stadium hosted the Super Bowl earlier this year.

There is growing speculation the team could induct former wide receiver Drew Pearson, but Jones also hinted he likes someone else, possibly former offensive lineman Larry Allen.

"Certainly we had a guy around here this weekend that was somebody that is probably a first [ballot] Hall of Famer," said Jones in reference to Allen's attendance at Thursday's preseason game vs. Denver. "We'll give you an update later."
