IRVING, Texas -- As expected, the Dallas Cowboys ruled out starting running back DeMarco Murray for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Backup running back Felix Jones also was limited in practice Friday with a bruised knee and is listed as questionable for the game.

Jones, who wore a knee brace during practice Friday, said he was feeling good. Jones said he's not sure whether he's going to wear a brace or sleeve on his knee.

If Jones doesn't start, Phillip Tanner will replace him.

Outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware missed his third consecutive day of practice with an illness. But he's expected to play and was listed as probable on the injury report.

"God, I hope so," defensive coordinator Rob Ryan said after Friday's practice. "He better play. He'll play, I'm sure he will. He's been sick."

Outside linebacker Anthony Spencer (pectoral) and center Ryan Cook (hamstring), were listed as probable after being full participants in practice.

Center Phil Costa (ankle), safety Matt Johnson (hamstring) and defensive end Sean Lissemore (ankle) were listed as out on the injury report.
