Tony Romo throws record TD
That gave Romo 166 career touchdown passes, one more than Hall of Famer Troy Aikman, who had 165 touchdown passes from 1989-2000.
"It'll be something that I'll look back on with a really good feeling, but that's mostly because of the people that are there," said Romo, who finished the 38-33 win over the Eagles with 303 yards and three touchdowns on 22-of-27 passing. "I don't know, I think it's just not about that. As much as it's a great thing to be in the discussion with those people, I'll be defined by if we can win a championship. That's what I desperately want to do for this organization, these fans and Dallas."
It was almost fitting that the touchdown pass was a near-vintage Romo play in which he was able to escape a pass rush and find Bryant on the opposite side of the field. Bryant sprinted most of the way for the touchdown.
It was Romo's 17th career touchdown pass to Bryant.
He added two more TD passes, one a 27-yarder to Miles Austin early in the fourth quarter Sunday night and another to Bryant with 5:35 left in the game to give him 168 for his career.
Sunday night's game against Philadelphia was the 90th in which Romo has thrown a TD pass in his career and it came in the 89th start of his career. Aikman's 165 touchdown passes came in 165 games.
So far this season Romo has passed Roger Staubach (153), Danny White (155) and Aikman (165) on Dallas' touchdown chart. He holds the team records for yards in a season (4,483 in 2009), touchdowns in a season (36 in 2007), 300-yard passing games (37) and multiple-touchdown passes in games (52).
