Winger eyes Monday return; Ott on IR

DALLAS -- Dallas Stars winger Jere Lehtinen likely will miss two games because a sore intercostal muscle in his midsection.

Lehtinen will not play Friday against Boston and probably not Saturday in Chicago, either. Coach Marc Crawford hopes Lehtinen will return Monday, but it depends on how Lehtinen feels.

Lehtinen was dealing with a hip and groin injury at the beginning of the season, and Crawford said this latest injury is the product of Lehtinen's body getting used to the rigors of game action.

Steve Ott (oblique injury) was put on injured reserve, and Aaron Gagnon, 23, was called up from the AHL Texas Stars and will be in the lineup against the Bruins. Friday night will be his first time in the NHL.

Ott is still on track to return to the ice next week.

Gagnon, who has one goal in five games for the Texas Stars this season, gives the parent club a right-handed shot at center and someone who can take faceoffs.
