Dallas Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski might be out up to four weeks with a broken thumb.

"It's a bad blow for us," Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said. "It's just one of those things that teams go through. Other guys will have to step up."

Goligoski was injured in Friday night's 3-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins when he was hit by a puck early in the first period. He did not play the remainder of the game.

The 26-year-old defenseman has six points (two goals, four assists) in 15 games this season.

The Stars have recalled defenseman Philip Larsen from the Texas Stars of the AHL. Larsen did not play Saturday night against Detroit.

Adam Pardy, who was a healthy scratch Friday night in Pittsburgh, was in the lineup against the Red Wings.
