The team announced the move Tuesday, four days after Goligoski was injured in a 3-1 loss at Pittsburgh, his former team.
Goligoski is second among Dallas defensemen with six points, including two goals. He leads the team in power-play ice time per game and has logged more than 20 minutes in 36 of 38 games since leaving the Penguins in a February trade.
Stars forward Steve Ott missed Tuesday night's game, his sixth straight, with a hip pointer.
"He's not going tonight. He'll be ready for Friday," Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said before the Stars 6-0 loss to visiting Florida. "He's pleading his case to go tonight, but it's better for us long-term than to rush him back when he's 85 percent."
