Brenden Morrow out 'a few weeks'

FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Stars captain Brenden Morrow is expected to miss a few more weeks as he continues to deal with neck, shoulder and back issues.

Heading into play Sunday, Morrow had missed the last four games and a total of 11 games this season due to the problems.

"He's going to have a few weeks of rehab here until he feels 100 percent," Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said Sunday. "We've sent him to a couple doctors and our guys here think we can get him to a 100 percent if we go through a strict rehab process with him. That's what we're committing to do."

Morrow missed six games in late November and early December with the problems. He also missed the final game prior to the All-Star break. He played two games after the break, but the issues persisted and the Stars placed him on injured reserve Feb. 3.

After registering a career-high 33 goals last season, Morrow has eight goals in 43 games this season.

The Stars entered Sunday in 11th place in the Western Conference, three points out of the final playoff spot.
