• It's a confusing and conflicting day for DFW sports fans: Cowboys fall to Chargers and the Rangers face the Rays tonight. Cowboys lost and seem like same old Cowboys, yet Rangers are playing great baseball and have a play-in game tonight. Those who bought into this Cowboys team feel suckered. That second half yesterday was awful. They had a real opportunity to take firm control over an awful division. They didn't. They seem to be just one of the awful teams in that division.
• Big game at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington tonight. This team has played terrific baseball and should be able to pull it off against David Price.
• Cowboys pros and cons from Sunday's game. Pros: Theyre still in first place, if you want to call that a pro. Cons: Terrance Williams. He dropped a third-down pass early in the game and then attempted to stretch out on a play that wasn't even close to the goal line. I have no clue what he was doing, but they can't trust him at this point. Run game. Why not stick with the run? DeMarco Murray inside the tackles was getting four yards or so a clip. What's wrong with that? Stick with it. That's what the defense appeared to be giving you. Granted, the offense didn't have the ball much in that second half thanks to the S.D. offense and struggling Cowboys defense. Pass rush. This was a S.D. offensive line with major injury issues. This was supposed to be a big opportunity and the Cowboys' pass rush didn't produce anything. Mo Claiborne and Bruce Carter. It was a struggle. Mo's confidence has to be shot. Woodhead beat Carter twice for TDs. The wheel route wasn't even close. The seam route, Carter was in position but couldn't get the deflection.
