Norwood played defensive back at Hawaii from 1983-87 and later coached safeties for seven seasons at Penn State, where his son, Jordan Norwood, was a wide receiver.
Norwood has been a college coach for 21 years, spending time at Arizona, Richmond, Navy and Texas Tech in addition to his time at Penn State. He served as defensive coordinator at Baylor from 2008-10 before supervising the safeties this season.
