FC Dallas 99 Central fell to Chivas SC Houston 99 in the Silver Division final of the Disney Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament, 5-4, on penalty kicks Saturday.
Both teams were very focused and determined to win the match.
The first half was very balanced with both teams getting opportunities and shots on goal. The first goal was scored by Chivas SC Houston.
FC Dallas goalkeeper Jared John made some fantastic saves throughout the game.
In the 67th minute, Jonathan Robert came through for FC Dallas to tie the game at 1-1.
The game stayed tied and went into extra time where both teams were playing great on defense and offense. At the end of extra time, the score was still 1-1 and the game went into penalty kicks.
Chivas SC Houston was able to make all five of its shots. One of FC Dallas' shots was blocked to make the final score 5-4.
The loss ended the streak of Copa ESPN champions winning the Disney Cup. This was the third year that ESPN Dallas sent its U14 champion to compete in the Disney Cup. Copa ESPN is played every year in April.
