SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

March 24, 2006

It has really been a treat to see J.J. Redick, Shelden Williams and Adam Morrison play in person. Unfortunately for them the season ended abruptly on Thursday night. They have given us incredible success and they are examples of being dedicated to the jerseys they represent.

All three played with a great deal of passion and enthusiasm. They all displayed feeling and energy. They have been ambassadors for college basketball. It has been special to sit courtside and call their games.

Talk about being All-Americans, I don't think you could possibly pick a squad without having those three on the list. Duke went down to LSU's young, talented team and its scrappy, tenacious defense. When you look at Gonzaga and Morrison, it was shock city after being up 71-62 late, only to see UCLA score the last 11 points of the game.

The tough, hard-nosed Bruins made a gallant comeback and it was heartbreaking to see the emotion pouring out watching Morrison at the end. He played his heart out and the exemplifies the trio -- they always gave their best. They are models for young kids, that whether you win or lose, pursue your goals and dreams and give 110 percent.

It really relates to these three genuine superstar All-Americans. In the case of Redick and Williams, it is graduation time, and moving to the big leagues, That degree from Duke will be worth so much more when they hang up their uniforms. Morrison now has to answer the question of his future. Most believe he is NBA bound and I agree.

I feel all three will become positive contributors on the NBA level.

Thanks a lot J.J., Shelden and Adam for the special moments you've given college basketball fans.
