USC moves up

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

December 4, 2006 | Dick's Stock Watch provides a fast-glance review of the past week in the world of sports, charting whose stock is up and whose is down.

STOCK UP

  • Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas nailed a 60-yarder to give Jeff Fisher's team an upset win over the Indianapolis Colts.

  • North Carolina's women's soccer team won its 18th NCAA championship, edging Notre Dame 2-1.

  • Wake Forest won the ACC football championship, capping an amazing season for Jim Grobe's squad.

  • Russell Baze with victorious ride number 9531 became the winningest jockey, passing Laffit Pincay Jr.

    STOCK DOWN

  • USC was stunned by UCLA, ending Pete Carroll's dream of another national championship.

  • The Green Bay Packers were routed at home by the New York Jets, 38-10.

  • Kansas was upset by DePaul, Marquette stunned by North Dakota State in hoops. The Bison must like the state of Wisconsin since North Dakota State shocked Bo Ryan's Badgers last season.

  • The BCS for not giving Michigan a shot to play for the national championship. You knew either the Wolverines or Gators were going to be unhappy, and this is why we need a playoff in college football. Basketball is light years ahead.
