Giants win the Super Bowl

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

Feb. 4, 2008 | Dick's Stock Watch provides a fast-glance review of the past week in the world of sports, charting whose stock is up and whose is down.

STOCK UP
•The Giants stunned the Patriots to win the Super Bowl. Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin silenced all of the critics and ended New England's dream of perfection.

•Congratulations to the new members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The class includes Art Monk and Darrell Green among the six newcomers to Canton.

•Eddie Sutton got his career win No. 800 as San Francisco rallied to beat Pepperdine Saturday night. Tom Penders also reached a milestone with his 600 career W!

•Johan Santana and the Mets agreed to a six-year deal worth over $137 million. Hey Johan, can I get a loan from you, baby!

•The Lakers made a great move, acquiring Pau Gasol from Memphis. Los Angeles didn't give up anything that would hurt them this season.

STOCK DOWN

•Spygate reared its ugly head again right before the Super Bowl.

•Pac Man Jones was told he will not be reinstated by the NFL any time soon.

•Toronto Maple Leafs Nik Antropov was suspended for three games after throwing his stick in the direction of the referees after a recent loss to Carolina.

•Who would have thought the Miami Heat would be contenders for the worst record in the NBA? It has been a long season for Pat Riley and company.
