Breslin Center fans want to be like the Cameron Crazies at Duke. Wednesday night, they had plenty to cheer about.

| The Spartans are counting on freshman Zach Randolph -- a McDonald's All-American as a high school senior -- to give them rebounding and inside firepower. |
Tom Izzo's Michigan State Spartans, the defending national champions, played like champions in beating North Carolina in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.
Some thoughts from that contest:
Jason Richardson is one of the most improved players in America. He was our MVP for the game, and the high-riser is going to get better and better.
Andre Hutson is one of the most underrated players in America. He's a hard worker and contributor on the interior who is so valuable as a veteran. Hutson is a good rebounder who gets the most out of his body. He gave the Tar Heels a tough time inside, teaming with diaper dandy Zach Randolph.
The wide-body Randolph gives the Spartans their first real low-post presence since Jay Vincent back on the Magic Johnson/Greg Kelser-led 1979 national champions.
North Carolina will have difficulty getting the ball inside without a penetrator or innovator at the point. I was impressed with Brian Morrison in the minutes he played. He showed confidence, and while he will make mistakes, all in all there will be more positives in his performance.
Joseph Forte tried too hard with his outside shot, failing to penetrate. He's too good a player to not excel.
North Carolina clearly reflects the personality of its coach. Matt Doherty shows such spirit and enthusiasm and it rubs off on his players. They will never quit and they made a run at the Spartans.
In the end, Michigan State was too strong on its home court.
