Sept. 21
They say that things change, but that's not the case for Carl Everett of the Boston Red Sox.
He's still an angry guy, bitter at the world. Can you believe that in a time of turmoil and mourning after our nation was struck on Sept. 11, Everett returns to form. He had a screaming match with manager Joe Kerrigan.
The Red Sox went from Jimy Williams to Kerrigan in the dugout, but Everett remains the same. Why does baseball need the Carl Everetts of the world? He hits his home runs now and then, drives in some runs, bats around .260. What does it do to the people in the locker room and around the organization?
Everett's actions make me sick, when I think about all the beautiful guys who want to put on that major-league uniform. Everett's antics are a joke.
It's time to grow up, Carl. You have to wonder if this guy will ever get it. He creates turmoil everywhere he goes.
