Dick's Stock Watch identifies whose stock is up and whose is down over the past week across the world of sports.
STOCK UP: Thomas, A-Rod, Northern Illinois, USC
Frank Thomas -- The Chicago White Sox designated hitter has eight home runs and 19 RBI in his last 10 games, helping keep the White Sox in the thick of the AL Central race. The Big Hurt has been swinging a hot bat!
A-Rod -- Alex Rodriguez now has six straight seasons of at least 40 home runs and 100 RBI. That's unbelievable for a shortstop, baby! A-Rod never folds it up despite the team losing, and he's a Gold Glover in the field, too.
Northern Illinois -- The Huskies stunned Maryland Thursday night, winning in OT 20-13. Huskies senior wide receiver P.J. Fleck caught 13 passes for 116 yards and one touchdown. Yeah for the MAC, baby!
USC Trojans -- The Trojans went to Auburn and dominated this top-10 ranked team. Coach Pete Carroll's Trojans, with Carson Palmer now in the NFL, won 23-0. Former USC quarterback and current ESPN analyst Sean Salisbury must be going wild!
STOCK DOWN: Clemson, Auburn, Orioles, Maroth
Clemson Tigers -- The Tigers were shut out 30-0 at home against a Georgia team that had a number of defensive starters injured. Coach Tommy Bowden is feeling the heat down in Death Valley.
Auburn Tigers -- Coach Tommy Tuberville's team had big expectations entering the season, but the Tigers were shut out by USC.
Baltimore Orioles -- The Orioles have lost eight in a row and scored just three runs in a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners. They have to go out and get some players.
Mike Maroth -- The Detroit Tigers' lefty is the first pitcher since 1966 to lose 19 games before Sept. 1. He might be the first 20-game loser since Brian Kingman in 1980.
