Jim Armstrong, a sports columnist at the Denver Post since 1994, has been named Colorado Sportswriter of the Year on two occasions by the National Association of Sportscasters and Sportswriters.

Before writing columns full-time, he covered the Broncos, Nuggets and Colorado Rockies beats for the Post, which he joined as a sportswriter in 1984 from the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Armstrong also won the Associated Press Sports Editors' Award for "Best Sports Columnist" in the nation (Newspapers with a circulation of 50,000 and under) while at the Racine Journal-Times in Wisconsin.

Armstrong also writes two columns a week for American Online and hosts a daily sports talk show on KLZ 560 AM, the ESPN affiliate in Denver.

In his spare time, Armstrong spends time with his wife Patty and 9-year-old daughter Jackie.
