Kevin Blackistone joined The Dallas Morning News in 1986. He moved to Sports Day in 1990 as a columnist. Previously, he wrote for the Business section covering the economy and the Metropolitan section covering city events and issues.
Blackistone also has worked as a reporter for the Chicago Reporter and The Boston Globe.
Blackistone has received several honors, including first- and second-place awards for sports column writing from the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors, a Chicago Newspaper Guild award for investigative reporting, and a National Association of Black Journalists award for enterprise reporting. He was a member of a team that won a Texas APME award and has been a finalist several times for a Press Club of Dallas Katie Award.
He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Northwestern University and was a Martin Luther King Jr. Fellow at Boston University, where he studied journalism and history in a joint master's degree program.
