Billy Granberry entered Texas A&M on scholarship in the fall of
1953 and quickly chose engineering as a major. When asked
what kind of engineering he wanted to study, Billy had no idea. So
he asked, "what kind do you have?" – showing his small town
roots and wit.
Billy eventually answered the question and graduated on time in
1957 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. After holding
several jobs in the oil industry, Billy earned his law degree from
Texas University 1966 and eventually made partner in Gary,
Thomasson, Hall and Marks in 1968.
He now lives outside of Corpus Christi with his wife Dauris
Jackson (whom he married before his senior year at A&M).
