Donald "Weasel" Watson was one of Bear Bryant's grittiest players, churning out yards in the Aggies' battering ram running game. One of the Junction Camp survivors, Watson starred at A&M from 1952-1956, lettering in football and track. He won Football National Back of the Week honors in 1955 and 1956 for his performances against Texas Christian University each season.

After his playing days were over, he made his way onto coaching staffs at Virginia Tech, Houston, Tulane, South Carolina and finally back to A&M as part of the team that won the SEC Conference Championship and 1968 Cotton Bowl game over Bear Bryant's Alabama squad.
