Cooper says Mercury will rise
PHOENIX -- The WNBA finally made it official just before 7 p.m. Wednesday: Brandy Reed is suspended and the Phoenix Mercury is without the team's leading scorer and rebounder.
Tuesday night's signing deadline elapsed with forward Brandy Reed rejecting a $50,000 offer from the WNBA, which controls all player contracts.
